ART CAPITAL OF THE PAST AND OF THE FUTURE

French Capital, county town for the region Ile de France, Paris streches along the banks of the Seine. It is renowned for its beauty and architecture, its avenues, prestigious squares (avenue des Champs-Elysees, Place de la Concorde), the charm and diversity of its local districts (Montmartre, the Marais, Pigalle...), and the prestige of its monuments (the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Arc de Triomphe...)

The Eiffel Tower is an iron tower built by Gustave Eiffel and his colleagues for the Universal Exhibition of 1889. Situated at one end of the Champ de Mars and bordering the Seine, this parisien monument, the symbol of France and its capital, was 300 meters tall at its construction and following a number of additions (antennas) now totals 325m, making it today the most magnificent radio and television transmitter.

Notre-Dame de Paris is one of the most remarkable examples of gothic architecture. This masterpiece, situated at the tip of an island ile de la cite, is the historic centre of Paris, on the banks of the Seine, and is the most visited monument in France.
